Help me choose fertility practice

CFA sucks. I hate that place and hope my IVF works so I don’t ever have to walk in that building again.

Avoid Hopkins like the plague.

Agree with the PP, the billing person forgot her name is extremely rude and lacks empathy.

Loved SGFC Rockville office and my RE/nursing team - I saw Dr. Chang and highly recommend him and his team. Everyone was so kind and though the experience was a roller coaster I felt I got very individualized care and their office was very responsive. Getting transferred to my regular OBGYN was a bit of a letdown after SGF...people sometimes talk about SGF being a big machine where they are only a number, but I did not feel that way at all...that's how my OBGYN felt, sigh. But all went well...now a mom of two.

Love love love Dr. Humm (and other docs) at GW. RCP goes south in the mornings, so it makes getting there easy for morning appointments. Their billing department is very organized. I found that their whole system was just easy. I parked in the Whole Foods right next door and they validate parking with a $5.00 purchase, so I treated myself to something there after appointments.

Before GW, I went to Columbia. I liked my doctor, but the billing department was awful and made everything stressful. Good luck!!

To PP who ended up going to NYC, can you say where? Or at least what their specialty was/what additional value they had to offer? I can see myself going to NYC if I had to.

I’m the PP who went to NYC. I saw Dr Davis at Weill Cornell. I had diminished ovarian reserve and did two mini-stim cycles, which resulted in retrieving more eggs (and developing more embryos) than my full stim cycles in DC.

I would not recommend CFA-- I don't really know if anywhere is better-- I thought at first Sacks was great but office is horrible but have contacted him now 4 times this week since Sunday and still haven't heard back from him (and very nervous about having a 2nd miscarriage because of it...)

I would not recommend CFA as well. I am there right now. I would move to GWU, but at this point, I just want my transfer to be successful so I never have to walk in that building again. It is too much to move to a new clinic now though it seems like people on this thread love GWU. I am doing lots of prayers and meditation to help me get through their staffing and billing.

Reading through these posts. What are people's thoughts about Shady Grove?

We used Shady Grove and were happy. Based on previous posts here and what my neighbor tells me, stay far far away from Hopkins. No personal experience there, however.

Stay away from Siu T. Ng-Wagner, M.D. She appears to have lost a $44.1 million malpractice case against her.

I went to SGF for IVF and had a positive experience. I saw Dr. Osborn at the Sibley location (though I had to do the majority of my monitoring bloodwork/ultrasounds at K street due to Sibley only being open on limited mornings, and all egg retrievals and embryo transfers through SGF are done in Rockville). I felt that the team was thorough and I always was told what to expect next. The staff was very responsive via messaging in the patient portal - I always got responses within 24 hours and even same-day if I messaged with a question in the morning.

I was also happy at SGF (Dr Devine). I found them to be efficient and responsive. If you are the kind of person who wants a lot of face time with a specific Dr, they are not the place for you but I had positive experiences with all of the Drs I interacted with.
