| I've gotten some great higher-end things from them from good brands like Kate Spade and North Face. But the bottom level stuff isn't that well made. Cheaper items might be fine like a colorful shell under a blazer, but if you're a discount shopper, you can get a better bargain at Nordstrom Rack or TJ Maxx. The service works best for people who don't have time to shop and aren't looking for major discounts. |

I just ordered a SF box for my tween as a birthday gift after reading suggestions on DCUM. Based on the preview this is likely going to be a major flop. The items that were my options were all pictured on adult models, way higher than the price points I had mentioned, and blah. $88 for a pair of girls jeans??? Literally it's as if the stylist saw the sizing and pulled stuff from the rack, not realizing it was size 12 Girls, not adult. I mentioned DD doesn't like pants, but prefers skinny jeans or legging, and 3 of the 5 bottoms options were trousers. One colorful sweater, the rest is black and gray.
We'll see if they read my feedback note when I submitted and offer different choices or ship this stuff anyway. Now to find another birthday gift since this is likely to be a total fail rather than something exciting and fun. |
OP here. Same experience so far. Two boxes in and nothing has worked so far. Going to give it one more month to zero in and then cancel! |
It is a vicious cycle!

I'm the Feb 8th poster reporting back. It turned out great! For whatever reason, Stitch Fix had started to do a box for me as well, and that was the preview they sent to me. Customer service was great about cancelling it. They also extended the return deadline for her Stitch Fix since I explained the plan was to wrap it up and have her open it the following week on her birthday. Totally easy.
My 12yr old's box came with 10 items ranging from a cute tank top at $12 up through a long cardigan at $30. We ended up keeping more than half of it. She was very happy, and the stylist had really listened to our specific requests such as no crop tops, only jeans with a bit of stretch since she doesn't like tight pants. Based on this experience, we would definitely do it again. A few things were slightly lower quality than I'd like (a pair of capri leggings felt very flimsy), but she's growing like crazy so at less than $30 an item I'm a bit more flexible on things not being superior quality since we'll get maybe a year's worth of wear out of anything we buy. |

^^ but you can get 5 leggings for $30 on Amazon - or 5 tank tops for $11.
