Yep. Another snow day for us. Not even virtual learning. I wouldn't be so quick to praise fcps on their "plan". There are way too many things that can (and will) go wrong. They're not known for their common sense, reasonable expectations, effective leafership/Gatehouse personnel, and the like. |
+1. MCPS can’t win. People are never satisfied |
| I'd take this 10 out of 10 times over what MCPS is doing. It's also more consistent with what other districts around the country are doing. As staff becomes available over time (and they will), it's a much smoother transition back to traditional classroom learning (to the extent Plan C popped up in the first place). I think it's pretty much a given that MCPS will keep rolling over 14-day virtual intervals until we hit spring (and even then, we'd have to be hopeful that they don't punt to Fall 2022). Unless they decide to abandon it because it's so stupid but that's a tougher walk back this time. In any event, it feels like FCPS is using a 2021 Playbook while MCPS is using a 2020 Playbook. |

Keep in mind, they have not tried this plan yet and have no idea how it will work. They have been CLOSED for three solid weeks. No in person, no virtual, no classes at all.

This! MCPS could copy this plan word for word and guarantee there would be screaming about why asynchronous instruction instead of virtual, or about the quality of asynchronous, or teachers, or why not teaching new material w/asynchronous, etc etc. MCPS will never satisfy everyone and never quell the complaints on DCUM. |
| So Plan C means the kids are at home or at school? Is there any plan to deal with a situation where a large number of kids are positive? Will they move a virtual for a time so the students do not get behind or are they only focused on the teachers? |
The DCUM way! Or is it the DCUM Wah! |
So this is MCPSs official excuse for doing nothing? Wow. |
LOLOL |
There's really no pleasing most of you. |
