How gruesome is Time to Kill?

If it's unpleasant, second runner up?

I don't remember it being that gruesome.

NP. I don't remember it being gruesome, but it's a more difficult subject matter than some of his others.

His early ones were all good, but most were made into movies...

OP here and I didn't ask this question so my question still remains. Which one do you like?

Fair enough.

I liked A Time to Kill, Runaway Jury, The Rainmaker, Pelican Brief, The Firm. I stopped reading his books after the first batch.

Ok Bye! Sometimes you want to read fluff. Like now during a pandemic. If you have no suggestions go read War and Peace.

I already said ATTK, but my next favorite would be Runaway Jury (with the caveat that I love to read, but not crazy about Grisham, so haven’t read all of them).

I read a recent one…and didn’t like it, although I loved The Firm. It was my absolute favorite.

I love all of his books. The firm and runaway jury are two of my faves

The partner.

A Time To Kill’s opening scene is horrific. Child rape, very triggering.

My favorite is the Rainmaker and the Runaway Jury.

I have read them all and I am a lawyer. Fun beach reads.

I happen to like how easy his books are to read.

He doesn’t write ✍🏽 in a style that is too complicated to understand.
The only issue I have (just my own personal one!) is that I need to keep track of so many character’s names & remember who everyone is because he introduces a lot of different characters in each novel.

He is an excellent writer - though it is pretty obvious when reading his books that he tends to skew left if that is not your thing.

My personal faves include: An Innocent Man (non-fiction, but very compelling nonetheless), The Firm (book 💯x better than the dud movie.)
Also I loved The Runaway Jury (superb ending!) as well as A Time To Kill.

Actually I have read most of his books.
If you read the first page > then you can get sucked in REALLY quickly I warn you!!

The book Grey Mountain I couldn’t even finish.
It was a literal bore.

Thank you for the specifics!

The Firm, Time to Kill, and Pelican Brief. Those were his best three.

I Agree with this.

I also thought The Rooster Bar was pretty good

I have read a lot of Grisham books. My opinion is the earlier ones are better.
Whenever I read one of his more recent ones, I feel like he is just churning them out because he "has" to.

I liked "Playing for Pizza". Which is about an American guy playing professional baseball in Italy.
And I found "Skipping Christmas" to be really funny. I almost never laugh really hard while reading a book, but I did while reading that one.
