It did not look that way to me. I sometimes tap on my brakes five if I see I am coming up too close to the car in front of me. I’m not brake checking the car behind me, I’m slowing down. I saw that the Virginia Department of transportation is not going after this aggressive pick up truck driver.

I agree with you op. It just looks like the Chrysler just slowed down to not get too close. I wish they would go after the pick up truck

+1 same perspective here.

Why wouldn't there be an investigation? You mean they can find a traffic cam ticket for speeding 10 miles over limit but they can't locate these two fools and suspend their licenses?

You people should not be on the road. You are unsafe drivers.

Focusing on the brake checker when the pick up driver is 100x worse is weird and I think you shouldn’t be on the road.

Lots to unpack here. But they are both a-holes

Chrysler: I'm not convinced that it was a brakecheck, but the Chrysler's actions after the near-crash (accelerating and weaving in and out of three lanes immediately after almost being in an accident) indicate he's an aggressive driving a-hole.

Pickup: Trying to pass on the shoulder is illegal, and his swerve to the right to avoid the ballards (and almost hit the Chrysler) indicate he is also an a-hole. His a-hole-ness is multiplied further when he dives left again to try and pass the Prius on the shoulder/merge lane after he has almost hit the Chrysler.

What did the brake checker do after he’s forced over? That tells you all you need to know about his intentions.

No doubt they are VA drivers.

+1 The lack of ability to read a dangerous situation is alarming. Hang up your keys.

Shame on “law enforcement” for doing nothing.

No wonder there are so many awful drivers if people think brake checking is normal driving behavior.

Having watched the video a few times, I can't believe these two idiots didn't cause a massive pileup.

Whatever happened to driving being a privilege, not a right??

That's my takeaway, too. The cops are just too lazy to do the legwork. You'd better believe that I'd be arrested if I were shooting a gun into the air and swinging a flail around even if nobody was hurt and there was no victim.

Both these drivers are reckless sociopaths - the pickup truck moreso, obviously, but the Chrysler is a brakechecking and lanechanging menace - and it's a minor miracle that nobody was hurt. It's only a matter of time before their recklessness gets somebody seriously hurt or killed.

Driver of the truck shouldn’t be on the road. Could have killed someone.
