OB office not wearing masks?0

Especially an OB's office. My Dad is a pediatrician who does NICU rotations and he's seen preemies and sick babies caused by their moms catching COVID while pregnant. Any OB knows pregnancy makes you high risk, both for mother and baby.

FYI, GWMFA was very consistent about mama through my entire pregnancy even before omicron. Others may want to offer OP their masked providers so she can find a different OB that’s convenient and safe for her.

Since it was the receptionist not wearing a mask, I would probably call the OB, share your concern, and ask if that was an anomaly or their policy. If they don't have a mask policy and you are not comfortable with that, then swithc,

This. I go to the K Street location and never saw anyone unmasked, even back in late spring when it seemed like things were dying down and we were all optimistic that the worst was behind us. Weird to just say CWC but not specific branch.

OP here, it’s the Bethesda location, first floor. Nurses and doctors had it on, but not receptionists who were having discussions. I was guessing nurses were aware since they came into the reception area and saw the no masks but were masked themselves. Not sure who makes the decisions, is it CWC corporate or the individual offices? I know hiring is difficult so is it that they know they won’t get fired? The dr I saw was also masked up in an n95. Made me think twice about continuing to go there. Just seems odd that an office that has a business revolving around pregnant women would allow this sort of risk, especially during a surge and with omicron. Was just curious if other CWCs were operating like this or if this is just specific to this location.

My OB hasn’t had a mask policy in a year easily.

Yeah this is crazy to me! Say this as someone who also had a baby during Covid and have been to a lot of Dr offices for ped visits etc as well.

The fact that half the comments are getting deleted is just hysterical to me. Apparently “someone” doesn’t like the fact that others have opinions.

Anyways, OP change drs if you really have that big of an issue with a receptionist not wearing a mask.

Change your provider and let them know why.

Recently observed the same thing at a CWC location. It was only one of the receptionists though. Everyone else was masked.

Inform the hospital you are delivering at. They will follow up.

Which office? I’d like to switch to there. Tells me they follow the science.
