Does school need to be notified if a positive covid test?

Prior to winter break students who had covid did NOT need to quarantine after an exposure for 90 days. Not sure if there is going to be a new test to stay policy implemented right away but if there isn't informing the school can help the child stay in school.

Our charter specifically asked that parents/guardians notify the school because it will impact the way future testing would be required for the child.

Yes, why shouldn't you. Just like your kid's friends, family, and close contacts. It is a moral obligation too. You are being nice and thoughtful.
