If family is in MoCo they need to start at the International Office on Rocking Horse Road. Look at the MCPS website for all the many,many documents they will need. They will be tested for language and math. They need to be vaccinated. And yes, there is alwys a backlog. Can be several months wait. Start NOW.
The International Office is also short -staffed. Prepare to wait. |

I am a registrar in MOCO. We had a foreign student who started the process in July and just completed it in late November. Lack of documents. The international office could not proceed without them.
The Office deals with hundreds per week and thousands per year. It would be so much better if these poor refugee kids could go to smaller districts and get in to school so much faster. It would then be a simple transfer to MoCo. |
