How many close friends do you have?

At any one time though about half, and who they are changes, are on the brink of not being considered close friends. But always in the nick of time they come through.

I figure that's my impatience.

Excluding family and spouse:

2 best friends that I share almost everything with
5 more that are in a same group of friends, that I see every 1-2 weeks socially and feel extremely comfortable with
1-2 more that I work to see every few months, we have a history but whether we're currently close is up for debate

Ha, I guess it's all relative. I think it's higher because a group of us just happened to have gotten close together as a group.

I know some other people who have 3-4 separate circles of friends they see a fair amount. I don't know how they do it.

2-3 close friends but I would never assume any of them would “drop everything” for me. I mean, if I was dying or in mortal danger, yes, but I think that’s true if some of my less close friends too. But if I was just having a tough day, they’d try but they have families and other stuff going on. That’s a lot to ask if anyone.

Really the only person in my life who I feel confident would be there for me is my DH, and we are in a rough patch and he hasn’t been great to me lately.

I’m not close to my family.

I feel pretty isolated right now, TBH.

I feel you. Am not even married, and am an immigrant.
