They wanted one primarily Black district and one primarily Latino district. Which they are getting. But I think it's going to backfire on them. They assume those districts in a county of 1/3 immigrants will both vote and are liberal. And that's not always the case.

They understand that and the districts are designed to ensure that their representation is isolated and ghettoized. They have ensured that will only hold 2 votes out of 9. Will always be a minority voice and they prefer it that way.

Liberals alway believe their corruption is okay because they have convinced themselves that they are doing it for the right reasons.

Which districts are primarily Black or Latino?

Yeah, now do the other districts.

(Also, Asian-AMERICANS.)

Leisure World will now be in the "East County" district
Derwood has been shuffled to the "Glenmont" district
Takoma Park, Downtown Silver Spring and "North" Bethesda will be in the same district. (I don't see the name of this district)

There's more. https://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/COUNCIL/BCC/redistricting/index.html

What is going on?

East county is actually only the southern portion of the eastern part of the county. The other eastern portions went with the Olney, Sandy Spring, Ashton and Gaithersburg.

Maybe this makes since to everyone. It seems like the high diversity has been segmented out.

Yes, the areas with the most black and brown people are now segmented out. Exactly.

Well you see how they aligned themselves with North Bethesda, haha!

They “aligned themselves” with the part of N Bethesda least likely to vote but most likely to provide opportunities for developer donations. It’s a district specifically designed to elect a TPSS candidate that is pro-development everywhere but TPSS.

Yep. Because it’s only right that in a county the size of Montgomery, nearly half the council people should live within 2 miles of each other.
