So a group class might help with general test taking skills. My kids are very good test takers and would have been bored stiff at the group prep classes. I think one on one tutoring was by far the most efficient for them (but expensive). Tutoring they met weekly for about 3-4 sessions. The tutor assigned them practice tests (old SAT or ACT exams) between sessions. They then went over what they missed at the next session. It’s very effective to fine tune their scores. However, with discipline you could certainly do this yourself. Would we have? Probably not without accountability to the tutor. |
Yep. (OP here.) We did one-on-one with older DC, because they ARE a good test-taker, just needed a little help with math. I feel like this DC will benefit from overall prep. |
