Citizens of Virginia can already do that. The fact of the matter is that the vast majority of people do not want to carry firearms. They are smart enough to know that their firearm is more likely to be used against them or a member of their household will use it to commit suicide. Some things are best left to trained professionals.

In Prague it would sometimes be weeks between seeing a constable. Same for many cities in France. We’re the only “modern” society that seems to require police presence everywhere.

European countries are a lot more homogeneous than the US. The ratios you’re talking about are probably the same in the “flyover” states because police just aren’t needed as much there.

This is just blatantly false and racist.

Yay diversity and mass immigration!

This. It's like people aren't that smart.

That is a false statistic, parroted right off the Everytown website.

It is not true. Doubt you care though; you just go on lying and lying.

What about data from the Harvard School of Public Health that says the same thing. Do they lie as well?

+1

Some cops also retired rather than get vaccinated against COVID (the leading cause of death among police in 2020 and 2021). The police haven't actually been defunded.

Oh no. Falls Church PD will only have one car to send when pulling over a black driver on Rte 7, instead of the usual 3. Lock your doors, Falls Churchians!

The EU residents don't have a constitutional right to carry guns and don't have more guns than humans.

Oh sure that would work. Armed housewives patrolling in their Prius.

Yes this is a direct result of defund the police and how people here act towards officers. We know a couple officers and many have left or are considering relocating. Why stay in a HCOL environment with arrogant white liberals telling you how evil & racist you are when you can move to a cheaper state like Florida where they are offering bonuses to officers to move down.

A lot of places have defunded police. And they realized their mistake and are now adding back funding. Look deeper into the budgets -- even if it doesn't seem like it's been defunded, it's often been de-staffed.

Yes this is part of it. The other part is that police departments across the nation hired huge numbers of cops during the late 90s and they are all now retirement age. Governments can fix one of these reasons. It won't really be able to fix the other.
