My friend makes the pretzel turtle thing every year and I so look forward to them! They use Rolos.

These Barefoot Contessa cookies are great. I make them without the crystallized ginger because my kids prefer them that way.

Not sure if these count as homemade enough to pass for a swap, but they are delicious and easy. Dip Oreos in melted chocolate and then decorate with sprinkles, tiny chocolate chips or multicolored chocolate chips.

Pudding pie.

Buy a pie shell.
Buy a couple of packs of chocolate pudding.
Make pudding, put in pie shell.

Decorate the top -- chocolate chips, chopped up chocolate candy bars, whipped cream -- whatever takes your fancy.

The easiest thing I can think of (other than buying a roll of cookie dough) is adding 2 eggs and a stick of butter to any cake mix.

Spread in 9 x 13 pan:
1. 1 stick melted margarine
2. 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
3. 1 pkg. (12 oz) chocolate chips
4. 1 pkg. (12 oz) butterscotch chips
5. 1 cup coconut
6. 1 cup chopped walnuts
7. 1 can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

Bake at 350 degrees F. Cut into squares. Cool and chill.

Oops! Just realized I forgot to include baking time. It’s 25-30 minutes at 350 degrees F. You might want to check a little early as oven temps can vary.

I hope you enjoy them as much as we do.

I liked these as a kid, but eating as an adult- yuck. The butterscotch chips always taste terrible. Like a mix of plastic chemical garbage. If you must make, maybe sub in white chocolate chips

I disagree. I adore those butterscotch chips! My mom makes butterscotch chip cookies too because we all love them so much.

I've seen but with a Hershey kiss melted then an m & m added -- could not be easier.

But for the turtles -- what's a chocolate covered caramel? As in, what prepackaged thing is this?

Rolos

I use Rolos. The “hardest” part of the recipe is unwrapping the Rolos. I do use pecans on top but I’ve seen other people do M&Ms in holiday colors.

Interesting - this makes a good cookie dough?

These lemon sables were in the post holiday cookie guide several years ago. They are pretty easy and come out well

Christmas crack. Although it’s not a cookie, it’s easy and super addicting.

Form balls and roll in powdered sugar and easy perfection. We do lemon cake mix and same with brownie mix.

I've been making ginger cookies for years, and these look wonderful. Kids may not appreciate it, but the crystallized ginger probably puts these cookies over the top. I'm not sure that these cookies qualify as 'easy', but it's hard to go wrong with a Barefoot Contessa recipe.

Melt some milk chocolate and dark chocolate (even amounts) add rice krispies, stir to coat. Drop small amounts on plate (I drop on parchment paper) and let harden. Yum.
