that you learned about this on Dr Pimple Popper. I find myself now knowing the difference between a lipoma or sebaceous cyst and guess which one patients have before she opens them up. The more you know...

OMG I just watched Dr Pimple Popper's video about this yesterday - so satisfying to watch her removing them

These filaments only become noticeable when your pores fill with oil and dead skin. For many people sebaceous filaments are noticeable on the nose, with many mistaking them for blackheads. In fact, what gets pulled out when using a pore strip is most often sebaceous filaments, not blackheads. Sebaceous filaments are most often treated with exfoliating cleanser or salicylic acid.

fascinating, thank you! i always notice this when i use biore pore strips on my nose (there are always some that don’t clear from the strip, but now i understand that the filament gets slightly pulled out so it looks like i have little black hairs)

Yes she does! Everyone on DCUM is way smarter than any trained professional!

I have squeezed them out before and guess what they were hairs not blackheads. There goes your "trained, licensed, medical doctor" assumption

Look up sebaceous filaments. But that might not be our TBH the Doctor can see your nose better than you can.
