| I personally do not go by "sell by dates" at the grocery store. Food storage is not a perfect science and it depends on so many factors whether it will still be ok for Thanksgiving or not. It could be fine but it could be spoiled too. I would cook it now and get another one for thanksgiving. |
most grocery store refers, are only cold on one side and open to the air. with no insulation. and would likely be much warmer than an at home fridge with a closing door. ie maybe bottom side of turkey nice and chilled, but top side exposed to room temp. not exactly food safe. IMO |

| i don't understand what the issue is. I bought frozen turkey a week ago and put it in the freezer like I do every year. OP, do you mean your turkey was defrosted? I would still put it in the freezer. |
