Therapy pet certification for cat

Therapy animals are despised in the service animal community. They are a distraction for service animals who are trying to work.

Is this a rental situation where you want to be able to keep the cat but the landlord is saying no pets?

I would be it’s exactly this. There are so many pet friendly rentals in this area but people still insist on taking pets to the ones that aren’t.

Gosh, I guess I’m gullible!

I thought what OP had in mind was training/certifying her cat to be able to visit elderly and infirm people, etc., to make them feel better. I know there are dogs in that role, and I swear I’ve seen news stories about cats too. I don’t know what training would be involved beyond the cat already being sociable and loving attention.

If what the OP wants is done bogus “service animal” certificate for a garden variety pet, to evade reasonable animal restrictions in public, well, worst of luck to you.

Unfortunately, this is not the case, which is too bad.
