Jeeps are no better or worse than many other vehicles. You are just jealous. Ours has been very reliable and no issues. |
You can get a extended warranty. |
PP you replied to. My priorities are: as least polluting as possible, reliable and not a pain to maintain. Which leaves me with boring/small/electric cars, and that's fine with me. They just get me from A to B. It's sad your identity is so wrapped up in your car's brand that you disregard essential criteria. I completely agree with you that Jeeps are no better or worse than many other ridiculously polluting eyesores. At least you don't drive a Hummer. |
The Wrangler Ex4 plug in hybrid pollutes in even less than your boring small car from Point A to Point B if Point B is less than 40 miles away. |
| Get the Rubicon. Much more comfortable, safe and reliable than these morons think. Love mine. |
| Every time I see a Jeep of other suv I want to set fire to it. |
| 4runner any day but they need to do better with tech and improve 5 speed transmission(so outdated). |
|
You don’t need the Rubicon off roading capability unless you want to do serious rock crawling. For more refined experience, look at the Sahara.
I suggest trying the Jeep. They hold resale value better than almost anything else on the road. Try one. Check that box. If you like it, you will be hooked. If not, sell it and move on to something else. Check out local Facebook groups for Jeep events such as group trips to Peters Mill or local breweries. Check out the Jeep wave on YouTube. Check out Jeep ducking. Does any of that seem appealing? |

My buddy has the Wrangler Sahara Ex4 plug-in hybrid. Such a fun car, we took it out to Joshua Tree and had a blast.
But once you deplete the battery (40 miles), it's a total gas guzzler like every other Jeep. However, for the short drives and daily errands that battery is very cool. Jeeps use the most fuel when sitting in city traffic, so the 40 mile all-electric eliminates the most wasteful usage for a Jeep. |
I've been a jeep owner for 25 years and various models of wrangler. (1) The Rubicon is 100% better than any of the others and has most of the comforts of the Sahara without screaming the furthest offroad I've ever been is the parking lot at Gold Cup and (2) Don't duck jeeps -- its lame. |
| Toyota. Without a doubt. |
| Toyota. Jeep’s have gotten better, but they are still near the bottom for safety and reliability according to most sourcez |
Cool. I hope I don’t see you at any events. |

I’ve owned both. Liked both. Not really interchangeable with each other outside their designed roles though.
