Too much soccer?

My ds entire U10 level do some sort of soccer at least 6/7 days of the week. I have to force my son to stop 5/7 days but on his off days, he is still juggling, practicing turns, running drills, passing on the wall or looking for an extra pickup game to play in. They have formal practice 3 days/ week but I see his teammates doing lots of extra practices with private groups and coaches on the side. Social services would be locking up the entire radius of top dmv clubs.

. This is way too much soccer. Great way for them to burn out and get injuries. It’s the parents that lead this effort. Maybe the parents should be exercising this amount and see how long they last before the effort dwindles and your actually declining in performance.

Because heaven forbid that kids have any free time now and get to be kids. Sports used to be a part of a kids life, now they are a kids life. Lots of parents force this on their kids, but no one will admit it.

When your kids show more interest in something else than they do in soccer. But if they love it , It can never be too much.

Agree with this, if they love it they want to play all the time, or watch. If it’s just a hobby do not spend the money on playing travel soccer

Move to Brazil for a year and don't even put him on a team, just let him play with other kids for a year and he'll be better than most players his age in the US
