Kids Thanking for gifts

Just got an aggressive email from MIA telling me the kids needed to "at least" thank them for the cash in the cards. Grandparents did not call kids on B day. Am I being ridiculous by letting this annoy me?

Good manners open doors that the best education will not
My office interviewed three candidates for the same position with the same experience. One sent a thank you note and this is why he was offered the job. He accepted. Good manners are important.

My sister's children did not sent me a thank you note when they were old enough to write them and I never sent them another gift. She asked me why and I told her.

By not teaching you children good manners, and you are not, you are doing irreparable harm.

Do people not use proper English anymore?

No to both.
