| My 9yo is getting 2 experience gifts and a couple smaller things. Experiences are Winter Wonderland at Dutch Wonderland the day after Christmas. And Beaity and the Beast at the Olney Theater the week between Xmas and New Year. Also going to get her a gift card for a book store. |
Dutch wonderland isn’t a little young for 9? |
|
I saw a few recommendations for Ugg boots.
My sister is a dance teacher, and says all her teenage ballerinas wear Uggs before/after/between classes because they can slip them over their pointe shoes. It keeps the shoes clean, and keeps the muscles in their feet warm and flexible. If your daughter doesn’t already have a pair, that might make an excellent gift. |
Agree ^^ My teens still love opening presents and having tangible gifts. Experiences and gift cards aren't really presents since they end up being family things anyway (for example: Winter wonderland at Kings Dominion or favorite fro-yo place, etc). |
We do things like a few types of nail polish colors, key chain-type swag, favorite candy, chapstick travel size lotion, cake-in-a-mug, gel pens & paper |

Watching this thread closely since I have an 11yr old who is very hard to buy for this year for the reasons that OP stated. Done with most toys and dolls. Not yet fully into clothes and definitely not makeup. Airpods and Apple Watches for someone her age aren't ok in our family, although no judgment for those who do go that route.
She has asked for Legos and books so far but that's it. Stocking stuffers will be easier in the form of fuzzy socks, Starbucks gift card, yummy smelling lip balm, and various other things like that. |
