Moving to a new club after the season is over

When you leave you also leave the teammates:
This group of boys, having been together may weather through this change. The change will be another experience for them as a whole, for good or for worse.
Perhaps slow roll tryouts in the spring..and let the boys have the twilight of their relationship as a team one more short season so they understand and have closure.

I think that stuff is over blown. The kids really do not care.

We did not move mid season as we also thought it was a learning opportunity. My kid stopped playing, and only now after 6 months is mentioning they would like to go back to soccer.

We are looking to leave because….
1. The coach was replaced by another coach a week before the season started, after telling us we would have the same coach. This was a deal breaker for us. If we knew we weren’t getting the same coach, we would have not signed.
2. The club blamed Covid for not being able to recruit last year but they didn’t do any better this summer.
3. Practice is not as good as before and it is unlikely that we will make much progress.
The team is doing better than last year but winning doesn’t always mean progress.

You can walk away and owe the club the money. They likely will not pursue the matter for the little amount owed. Or you can do as you originally stated you intended to do and pay as you agreed. Its your choice to leave the club. it was your choice to agree to take that roster spot. Had you not taken it a different player would have therefore your choice impacts the club, the team and each player that remains.

Again your call what to do but you will owe the money, that I can tell you for sure

No "coach". For our club, the contract is listed with a specific coach so it really depends on your contract wording.

Would be interesting to know what the coach was doing that made your kid stop playing?

We are looking for a team for our HS kid this Spring who sat out Fall season because of a crazy HS schedule--academically and HS soccer.

Where we live soccer is a spring HS sport, so hoping some roster availability opens up.

Private school family?
