“You can’t do that!” Chant from parents on sideline

Several years back at a U11 indoor Futsal game (close quarters) the opposing coach would scream anytime my son had the ball “he can’t use his left”. Each and every tine the ball came near my son. And my son was the only player on the court that he would bellow about. My kid is known for having a strong left and is put on the left for that reason. It was borderline abusive since it was so loud and the quarters were so close. My son nailed a goal with his left foot and I screamed “Great left foot!” which seemed to shut the other coach’s dumb @ss up temporarily.

My kid was only 10-years old at the time. The whole thing had all of us perplexed in the stands. He was one of the strongest players (though tiny) on his team so I assume it was some psychological tactic the other coach was trying. It didn’t phase my kid who lets crap like that fall off his back and actually eggs him on.

Lady, 3 parents got a red card in one game this weekend. Chanting “you can’t do that” is nothing!

Poor parental behavior was in full display this weekend, unfortunately. I'm always shocked at the amount of animosity adults can display over a u-little soccer match. I'm amazed anyone signs up to ref these days.

Im starting to think it was a single outburst (that you hear several times a game) not a chant like you here from the crowd at a pro game.

Yeah, I’m thinking it was a foul by OP’s kid, a brief outcry by the other team’s parents, and OP is feeling embarrassed by then incident so she’s trying to rally support here without giving details.

100% did and they were required to leave the premises. Coming onto the field and intimidating a referee is completely unacceptable behavior.
