They’re a division too high in NCSL and having a rough season. The coach is one of the club founders who is very good. It’s a great group of kids.

The club is over 50 years old. That must be one old coach.

Gunston was founded in 1990

Correct, the club began in 1990 to focus on the area near Mount Vernon. FWIW, Gunston only has a handful of coaches and they each coach 3 teams.

I did not realize Alexandria was so good.

ASA doesn't formally do mid-season tryouts, and the top teams probably have the max number on roster they are allowed to have. But you should still send an email; if you're daughter is the second coming of Mia Hamm, they'll figure it out. If not, she can probably have a spot on another level team and you can maybe move up for next year.

I think this club is generally well run, although not perfect. But we're on the boys side.

If you search this forum, you’ll see quite a few concerns with that Alexandria club. You’ll probably want to find a better option.

If you search this forum you will find quite a few concerns with every club.
From personal experience my daughter moved over to Alexandria after 3 years at a different club. We have been very happy with the club and do not regret the move at all. it was the right move for us.
Good luck with wherever you land

Did you know 10% of the money you pay for that club goes right into the executive director’s pocket? Being part of that club requires tithing. Parents are such suckers.

Interesting as my fees at Alexandria happen to be less than the prior two clubs my kids have been associated with. Add in they dont charge additional for tournaments like my kids prior two clubs and I find Alexandria to be a cost savings. Imagine I am saving money and contributing 10%. I feel better knowing this.
