God forbid kids who live in apartments and townhouses be allowed to attend their school. |
And some Madison to South Lakes! |
Does anyone actually think Dunn Loring is going to happen? I live near there and it's been business as usual there. No signs of any change. |
Most of those are anything but obvious, especially Madison to Langley. |
My bad, I misread the weird, long Marshall peninsula as being Langley. Ok, then send Madison to South Lakes |
| If you could I would convert Carson Middle to a small high school and have Franklin Middle serve as the feeder for McNair, Floris, Corssfield and Oak Hill |
I highly agree with this. Woodson is massively overcrowded, which could easily be relieved by moving Oakview kids to Robinson and even another elementary school Annandale. Both Robinson and Lake Braddock are under capacity. |
This link may or may not work (the DCUM software often prevents simple links from working), but it indicates the real work on Dunn Loring isn't planned to begin until the 2023-24 school year: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/budget/sites/budget/files/assets/documents/fy2022/advertised/cip/9-fairfax%20county%20public%20schools.pdf Shrevewood will be overcrowded for many more years. |
They are expanding Madison more than needed to serve the existing JMHS catchment area. More likely they will eventually move part of Marshall in Vienna to Madison as Marshall becomes increasingly Tysons-centric. |
YES PLEASE |
Keeping apartment dwellers out of Langley and making sure that no new areas are zoned for high schools rates 2 or lower by great schools seem to always be the primary factors in drawing lines. I doubt the school board changes that |
What do you mean by eliminating centers? |
| no more AAP and AAP busing |
Most of Oakview does go to Robinson. It is only a handful of kids who split off to Woodson- but yes, keep all of Oakview at Robinson so they can stay with their friends. |
AAP is the pride and joy of FCPS. That won’t be eliminated. |
