Private & Independent Schools
| To the person who said it was unlikely that the children were discussing it, when I was in grade school our married principal was sleeping with an unmarried teacher. It was absolutely the talk of the cafeteria (this was at a small private school in the mid-west). |
| 9:36 PP, here. Who is Francis? |
Only one of the best movie lines in history, from Stripes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LrllCZw8jiM It's useful for someone who is acting way too serious. |
| Honestly, this is probably true of every private school in the country right now. Either parents are having affairs with eachother or someone one the administration is. Isn't everyone an adult? |
And to the original "Lighten up, Francis" poster, you timed it perfectly. Well done. THe quote is right up there with, "Will milk be made available?" |

This is more common than you think - happens everywhere. People are human and this stuff happens. Actually, rather tame in comparison to our school where several marriages were broken up by divorced parents and a field trip was marred by excessive drinking, skinny dipping and illicit hook-ups by the parents.
Harvard's new policy banning sex between students and faculty is the dirty little secret - this is happening everywhere and at every level no matter the stellar repuation. |
Well, apparently not, or at least everyone does not know how to behave like one. |
|
In one situation, the parent's children are still in the school
and many of the other students, parents and faculty know what happened. Talking about it openly. Realize the situation was created by adults, but this is hardly right for the kids. |

Did the adults involved do anything illegal?
Did they do anything clearly exploitative (as in, one is in a position of authority over the children of the other - classroom teacher, coach, etc)? If not, I fail to see where the scandal is, why other parents should consider it their own problem, or why it is being discussed here. Adults do stupid/inappropriate/impulsive things all the time - in schools, in businesses, in neighborhoods. Kids may learn about it and discuss it (although, unless coached by their parents, early elementary kids are pretty oblivious). That doesn't make it any of my business. |
| The teacher involved is in a position of authority over one of the kids. |
| If everyone was getting enough, they wouldn't be so concerned with what goes on between two consenting adults. |
| To the Site administrator Good for you!!!!!! |

@18:58
Based on what was here before the administrator removed the posts, that doesn't appear to be the case (if this rumor were even true). |
| Wonder if the first lady is bummed that she didn't go with Maret. |
| All schoosl have issues. Being in a perfect environment would mean there were perfect people. Impossible. I am sure she is happy since Sidwell offers a great program. |
