Are all babies this cute?

Let's put it this way: child modeling may not be "so terrible" to some people, but there is no doubt that it is very Low Class.

Well, SOMEBODY'S got to be the babies in all those parenting magazines!

Low class?

You're hysterical. What makes it low class? My friend's child is one of the faces of Gap. His mom is lovely, has a master's degree, and is filthy rich. Last thing I would think is low class!

I have to agree with the poster who said "low class". I've known 3 people who did baby modeling with their kids and all 3 were complete trailer trash. Although they had no idea they were.

Low class? But they don't know it?

Now that is seriously judgemental! And just plain mean. And just the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard about baby modeling.

If every one is telling you how cute your baby is, she/he is cute. Nothing wrong with a little $ for it. I was told forever, "you should model your children, they are beautiful". I know they are over the top beautiful. I did consider modeling, got accepted by big firm in NY, but think I may wait and see if my children want to model. I do want it to be their choice. There are a few places for children close to dc for modeling. Linda Townsend in MD, Modologic in Richmond are two. The problem with NY is they want you to be available asap. Impossible for us at the moment. I may rethink the issue in a few years when they can make the decison. I would not want to force it on them. If they do not want to fine. In a few years they may not be that cute anymore to someone else. They will always be adorable to me. One thing I think is worth mentioning. I have a friend that had a very very ugly baby. looked like a rat. she thought that baby was beautiful. child has grown to be an ugly toddler, preschooler, kindergartener, mom still thinks she is beautiful. She is not even close. Thank God for mom's. How sad would it be to think your child was ugly. I really do not think any mom thinks that, and we all have to agree, there are some ugly babies out there.

I have known parents who know their child isn't pretty and resented it. They were always upset when someone commented on another child and then bashed that child as being stupid or whatever to other friends. It was really sad. Thank God most of have our rose colored glasses on when it comes to our kids.

Class does not necessarily have anything to do with wealth. You can be very rich and still be lower class.

In the beginning, I thought my DD looked like the Gerber baby. My father was a model for Bunny Bread in the 50's.
When she was born, she really was so beautiful. Stunning. A 'C-section' baby my older friends told me.
She slowly started looking funny in pictures. Big eyes, big head, etc. I thought of maybe sending her photo into Pottery Barn kids since they publish a new face a catalog, but never did. Now she is still cute, but has very little hair for her age. On the other hand, I have met less pretty babies and within a year they really blossom.

In the future if your kid is photogenic, you may want to have them model for clothing lines...that way they can get free clothes. Like model for Piccolo Piggies or something.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm guilty of giving mothers out there a big head. I would tell other moms how beautiful and cute their babies are, even if their kids are just mediocre. Now, if the babies are ugly then I just keep my mouth shut.
