OMG, Terro liquid ant baits are a dream come true. I have been struggling with this buggers for years.....the terro worked in a matter of days!
They are magic! |
| I just had to buy Terro, too. Put it out last night. Ants, I hate you! |
| I've had some trouble off and on with those tiny little ants. I just came home from the Giant last night, and as I was unpacking groceries, I noticed two of them on some cans in the bag. I wonder if I've been bringing them in the house from the store all this time. ? |
| Our pest control company uses a crushed limestone powder (completely chemical free) and they leave the dust in the problem areas. The ants have a very sensitive exoskeleton and when they walk through the powder it gives them abrasions and they die. It works great, it's chemical free so I feel okay about placing it on areas of my countertop. |

i swear by those little 'ant hotels'. They are child resistant..no spraying of poison and they work phenomenally!!!
I saw some in early June and laid my traps..they were gone by the next day. ....until this morning. I just went to CVS and bought new ones and set them out. only `$5. I spray the ant killer around the door, outside where kids dont go and then put the hotels right inside where I see them coming in and right outside...they work by the ants crawling in and then carrying the poison back to colony. Destroys their colonies. They are environ friendly and safe around children. If it rains..you need to take them in or buy new ones. I do notice often the ants surge after a big rainstorm. We've kept it in pretty good check this way. Good luck! |
I guess these are like the 'terro' ones ppl are talking about..mine were 'combat' or 'raid' brand and work great. |
|
For those horrible mini-ants, I have tried everything including an exterminator. Within a few days after the exterminator left, those ants were back. I have used raid and everthing else that in the stores. Last year I put so much stuff under my kitchen that all of my plants and flowers died. I haven't used Terro, so that's the next thing I will try. Does anyone else have any ideas??
Thanks |
Terro will work. I bought some after reading this thread and put it in the cabinet waiting for our periodic invasion. Well, there they were when we got back from vacation. I put out the Terro, it was like ringing the ant dinner bell, out they came to drink deeply. Three days later not an ant to be seen and now 3 weeks later, still haven't seen one. |
PP is right. Go to Lowe's and buy ant stakes and put them out and your problems are over almost instantly. You can also buy the Terro crystals and sprinkle them around outside of house. Terro is absolutely wonderful! |
Follow the trail in reverse. That's what I did. They were coming in through the kitchen - up the steps by the front door - as though they were guests! I found that f-ing colony in a crack on the side of my driveway. killed them all! |

so nice i found if you use glass cleaner with ammonia that it kills thm instantly it only costed me $1.50

I'm in here VA and have been using Terro this summer and last summer. There is NOTHING better, and it is disturbingly satisfying to see them swarm around, slurping up their last meal, knowing they will share it with the rest and the colony will be destroyed. |
