Who gets contacted and when? Close Contact at APS

NP.

Do you people who think you should tell the whole class think you’re actually helping anyone? You’re easing your own anxiety by passing that burden on to other people. The whole damn class doesn’t need to be quarantined. There is no evidence-based reason to do this.

It is the public health people’s JOB that they are paid and trained to perform to determine close contacts and then notify them. It is not your job to sort it out.

If it’s your kid’s friend you had over to your house, different story. But that’s not what the OP posted about.

No we really don't and some of you parents trying to find out who it was need to get a grip. It's wildly inappropriate. This went on at my kids' school.

We're going with evidence-based advice from the health department here not your anxiety-based preference.

When your kid got COVID you didn't think you should tell their friends' parents?

This is the actual PP back. Other responses were not me.

I would tell anyone who I know my child to be close friends with who I know my kid would be spending time at recess with, for example. That was not the post, however. The post was saying tell the whole class. Which is not necessary. In fact, I think it kind of sucks. It makes people feel panicked for no reason.

People are also not entitled to have the sick kid’s name or put it on blast.

Finally a voice of reason. That’s hard to find in Arlington.
