| doesn't have to be fancy, as long as it's good. |
| If you like Ethiopian, Etete is my go-to place before a concert. |
|
Coppi's is fairly close
Bistro La Bonne DC Noodles all are on U Street so they entail a short walk |
|
Sala Thai.

no way! all below are awesome restaurants within walking: masa 14, rice, eatonville, dc noodles, marvin, saint ex, and bar pilar. |
my bad. i was thinking of the Black Cat. for 9:30 Club: eatonville is still walkable. 1905 looks very cool. i hear the new burger joint on U street is good. i think it's called desperados. also on U: tabaq bistro and dukem (eithiopian). |
| Love Vinoteca on 14th and U. |
| If you like soul food, Oohs & Aahs and Wilson's are wonderful-they are pretty casual though. Dukem, Meskerem, and Zenebech Injera are all great for Ethiopian. |

For carryout, The Greek Spot at 11th & U (or maybe it's Vermont & U?) is awesome, especially if you are vegetarian.
Don't eat at the Gibson--very nice for cocktails though! |
| Oh, and DC9 has excellent homeade veggie burgers |
| ben's chili bowl. it's practically a dc landmark at this point. |
