Why did the director suddenly resign from NSF CDC?

Does anyone know why the director for NSF CDC suddenly resigned? Was it related to the tuition increase?

Why would it have anything to do with a tuition increase? Doesn't the management of BH decide the increases for each of their centers? It should not affect the director at all.

Because the parents at NSF CDC are mostly federal employees (and there has been a federal employee pay freeze), and the parents responded that the tuition increase was unfair. The regional director for Bright Horizons was pretty angry about parents' reactions, and said so in a meeting with parents about the tuition increase.

It is not too outlandish to think that the parent reaction to the tuition increase could have put the director into a defensive position, and Bright Horizons corporate then decided to make a change at the director level.

NSF CDC has an oversight Board, and the Board manages the contract with Bright Horizons. So tuition increases are, in turn, somewhat overseen by the Board vs. Bright Horizons corporate.

What did the tuition increase to? We are at another BH and pay $1700 for infant and $1520 for toddler?

Oh, that does make sense. Thanks for the clarification. I can't believe that the regional director was angry at the parent reaction to a tuition increase.

The increase (starting in March) is 3%.

The regional director said something along the lines of "if the parents don't like it, they can just leave."

Our children go to a different BH. Our experience with BH management is very friendly and attentative to your needs prior to enrollment. Once the children are enrolled, they couldn't care less and management customer service all of a sudden goes out the window.

So true. Our center was taken over by BH about 2 years ago and we were promised so much and the second they started to manage the center it was clear that they just did not care. The teachers were treated badly, our director was miserable, and the customer service was laughable. We finally left the center and are so happy that we did.

Agreed. BH sucks.

Any updates on the new director? I saw that there is a job posting dated 2/18/2011 for the director position at NSF BH.

Has a new director actually been hired?
