Takoma Park and Eastern Magnet program letters received

Hello- I am posting this in response to who ever requested that someone post when they received letters from Eastern or TPMS about their child's magnet applications. My child applied to both programs and we got both letters today, Wed Feb 9. But, not everyone in my zip code (20815) got their letters today.
Hope this helps someone's nerves. No snide comments please. Its getting pretty rough on this topic lately.

Do you mind if I ask -- were they both acceptances?

Everyone I know who heard today from either or both schools received acceptances, and I haven't heard of anyone yet who got a letter saying their child didn't get in.

My friend hasn't heard anything and has convinced herself that this means her kids will receive rejections from both programs. I was hoping to tell her this wasn't necessarily the case. I know it sounds like an extreme reaction but there's a backstory that explains her anxiety.

In response to the question, yes, both letters were acceptances. We were shocked. FYI, my child is not in a HGC. And my child was not labeled "G&T" after second grade. We left the space blank on the applications that asked for info about awards, etc. So it can happen without all these things.
I hope today's mail brings more acceptances to those who are waiting.

We received acceptances to both Takoma Park and Eastern yesterday Feb 9.
