So I asked around for hair stylist recommendations, finally settled on a place and person hugely recommended by my MIL and her friends, went and plonked down a fortune on a haircut and highlights and OMG it was the worst haircut and worst highlights ever! Even my MIL, who normally is my biggest cheerleader, couldn't lie and tell me I looked good. I went back and had them tone down the highlights, but there is no way that I will let that woman with scissors near my hair again. Sigh.
Anyway - it's been two months now, and I think my hair has grown out enough to get it cut and styled again. I need a real expert this time - someone who will hear me when I describe what I want and who will be comfortable "fixing" someone else's mistake. I live in Bethesda but am happy to go north (Rockville) or south (NWDC) as needed. Please help save my hair - I am so sick of looking this ugly! Thanks! |

Profiles hair salon in Kentlands.
Russell is awesome. Really listens, precise. He saved my hair after it was butchered by another stylist. Fixed my mom's hair after she had a really bad haircut. It was so bad I doubted anything could be done but he saved the day. |
| Christophe salon downtown DC. Go see Philippe for the haircut. He is amazing. His wife Christa does an amazing color - she was even featured in Allure magazine. |

I HIGHLY recommend Bach at Paul Bosserman salon in Georgetown. He rescued my hair after a stylist at another supposedly high-end salon absolutely butchered it, both in the cut and color departments. (Honestly, I think the guy may have left me to go do something illicit, as he disappeared for a good 45 minutes.) Bach really examines your hair type and tells you what will/won't work. I've sent many people to him, and they've never been disappointed.
Good luck! |
