I just started using Latisse. Can anyone share their experience with using this?
Worked on my upper lashes, but nada on my lower ones, which are essentially gone and won't come back. Doesn't help my thinning brows either.
Have seen many people look like they are growing pubic hair instead of eyelashes. It makes them long and wavy for some people.
06:15 here. I would guess the ones with the pubic eyelashes really didn't need it in the first place. Even with my very sparse eyelashes, I've cut down to 4 to 5 days per week, because there is some slight discoloration that is a common side effect, and cutting back seems to be a fair balance between having some lashes and minimal discoloration.
Discoloration of what? I read that latisse can change blue iris color to brown, so I am reluctant to try it even though I desperately want to bc I have very sparse and short lashes. (btw, I don't prefer blue eyes to brown, but the thought that the product can do that freaks me out- just seems like it can't be safe ...)
Discoloration can happen on the lids, sort of a tannish color in my case. When I used it every day, it made my eyelids look heavier and I looked more tired (I thought). Cutting back minimized this. The iris discoloration can happen if you put it in your eye, which you are not supposed to do. This is the same drug that treats glaucoma, and it was found it changed eye color in some, but also grew lashes, hence the new market as a cosmetic product. I am blue-eyed, and have had no change in eye color.
Just so you know, you don't have to "put it in your eye" for the iris color to change. And this would be a permanent change. I have seen the "pubic" hair change often...like taranchula legs.

NP here. Use of this product, as indicated in the product information, needs to be continued in order to sustain any positive growth effects on the lashes. Otherwise, the lashes "lashes will gradually return to their previous appearance."
So, remember, if you start using it and like the results, you have to keep doing so. This might be a concern for some in terms of lifestyle/monetary issues. |
