one year old pinches me (in a loving, self comforting way)

My dd has taken to pinching me on the neck, arms, chest--whatever she can get her little fingers on. She does this when she is sucking her thumb and in a mindless sort of self soothing way. But it hurts! My neck is covered in tiny red marks. Has anyone had this happen and gotten her to transition to a satin blanket or something? Thats what it seems like-- like she is sucking her thumb and needs a lovey. But I have been unsuccessful in introducing one. It seems to always be with the thumb sucking, and mostly when she is tired. Its definitely not meant to hurt.

No advice. S scratches me while she is feeding and she has already become quite attached to her lovey. I feed her in such a way that her hands are scratching my love handles so I just pull my shirt down before we sit down in the glider.

Oy! Pinch, scratch, bite, slap and squeeze my cheeks - I get it all! It hurts but he does not understand that (though I think he is getting the picture)

I couldn't figure out where the cheek squeezing was coming from, but then I realize that I squeeze his cheeks when he is grinding his teeth (god, that drives me crazy!!!) And I think he slaps my cheeks because I sometimes hold his cute little head and kiss him all over the face.
