Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
| I want to invite a few friends with their kids over for a casual afternoon, no-real-reason party but want to have a "theme" of sorts. I was thinking a chocolate theme. Any other ideas? Chocolate might be too much with demanding kids around. |
| Welll -- the next holiday is Valentine's Day -- what about that for a theme? Make some cupcakes and have kids decorate with their own candied hearts or whatever. |
| How about a "135 days until summer party" (I don't know exactly how many days, btw!) You could serve summery barbecue foods like burgers and hot dogs, lemonade, fruit kabobs - play bob marley - dress in summer clothes - play games like limbo and conga line. |
| How about a "post cards to troops aboard" type of party? You could have card/post card writing/decorationg stations. I am not sure what else would go along with that type of party, but just a thought. |
I love this idea! |
| A friend told me about come-as-you-are parties that she and her friends used to have on short notice. Just a few quick phone calls, have some folks over for a few hours, and no one is allowed to change/put on makeup/get ready -- kids in costumes, PJs, whatever. Sounds like they were a lot of fun. |
| What about an afternoon tea? |
|
How about a Spoil Your Dinner party -- all the stuff people fill up on and then don't want their meat-and-two-veg?
Everyone can go home and have a salad to compensate. |
| How about a Mardi Gras party. You could get plain paper masks (in AC Moore or Michaels) and have the kids decorate them with inexpensive arts/crafts stuff (beads, feathers, markers). Make your own king cake with purple and green sugars. |
