Help--where to take out of town friend for dinner/drinks TONIGHT (downtown, Chinatown, Dupont)

Anonymous
Just made last-minute plans to meet up tonight for drinks/dinner with a friend who is in from out of town. She hasn't been to DC very much so I want to take her somewhere with a cool/fun/elegant bar. (we are 35-year-old moms so it doesn't have to be super trendy.) Ideally I'd like to find somewhere with comfortable booths as we will likely want to have a bite to eat and sit and catch up for a couple of hours. We could also do drinks somewhere and then dinner somewhere else nearby. Anywhere downtown or Chinatown area is fine. Dupont would be OK too. Thanks so much!!!

Rasika
Zatinya
Ping Pong Dim Sum

Proof, Oyamel...actually Clyde's might be perfect.

I'd go to Zaytinya because my husband refuses to eat small plates. Sigh. But it's perfect for catching up.

Another vote for Proof, too. Or Cafe Atlantico.

Casa Nonna in DuPont. Kellari Taverna downtown.
