Getting rid of bird sh*t

So a couple of birds have made their nest up in the edge of our roof and all spring, they have been dropping their sh*t down onto the corner of our deck. Now the baby birds have arrived and so there are even MORE birds all dropping their sh*t into the same spot. What is the best way to get rid of this stuff? Just hose it down? Will I have to actually scrape it off?

Anyone done this before?

you know, poop is a perfectly acceptable synonym.

You can try using a hose, but if it's been there a while, you'll probably need to scrape. I would hose it first, then use a paint scraper, and wear a mask over your face while doing it.

Once the baby birds are out of the nest, remove it.

YOu could also tape a piece of thick plastic onto the spot where they poop. THen just remove the plastic when they're gone. You'll still have to clean underneath, but it will control build-up.
