I have absolutely no creative ability, which will be tricky when my son is ready for crayons But for now, I'm trying to figure out how to get a tiny picture into a darling silver Tiffany locket I got for mother's day from a wonderful husband. I assume I could try shrinking down a photo of my son's face (if I can find free photo software?) but how do I secure it effectively into the heart shaped locket? Or do I just press it in there? Thoughts?

My SIL had this problem and ended up using a "proof" from Shutterfly. You know those extra sheets that come with the pictures that have all the little pictures on them? It worked perfectly and was a great idea!
I've give these sort of things as gifts to grandmas and usually just order several photos of DD from a distance and cut them down until they fit. So I'd order maybe 2 of each, just in case I mess up and see which one looks best. I guess it depends on the locket but I've never had a problem securing it, I just press it in there - isn't there a see though cover for it to go behind? |
I also use the Shutterfly "proof" and it works well. Try double-sided tape or glue dots to keep it in place.
I did this recently. I brought the locket to Ritz Cameral and they werer able to shrink the picture to actual size of the locket since they measured. Good luck!
I took a 4x6 photo, used a color copier and copied at 25% of the normal size. That was the perfect size for the locket I have.
Sorry, this is 8:47 again. Forgot to add that my locket has a plastic cover that comes out (using a pin). The photo goes in and then the clear cover goes over that. If that's not how yours is made, I would just press the photo in there really hard. Since the locket closes, it should remain secure without using adhesive (which I can't imagine using on anything from Tiffany! ).
