Been covered in the thread. Keep thinking that international exposure to a higher level of football means nothing. This is also the same line of thinking that keeps you believing DCU is an acceptable academy. It's crazy because you're holding yourself AND your kid back with this thinking. Good job.

Usynt u16 Feb camp has zero DCU kids but there is a kid from a local non MLS academy. The fact that a local club has more players in a youth national team camp than the area MLS academy is a complete embarrassment for DCU. Not only did this player stiff arm DCU but they were also successful getting visibility elsewhere in a system that is stacked against non MLS academies. Philly union 3 kids. DCU is honestly.pathetic.

This means that there is a kid that has national team potential that is 1. Lives in the area and is Not in DCUs system which is a failure in scouting and recruiting (or they knew what everyone else knows, that DCU is a dead end) and 2. Probably doesn't need DCU at this point. Big wake up call for DCU to be honest. US Soccer is telling them to do better with a talent rich region.

I have zero personal experience with DCUA, but not every academy has a player on that roster. I checked. I suppose they are pathetic too? And in any case, why do you care whether DCUA is or isn't unless your kid is in the academy (and if they are, and you have a legit axe to grind, you should man/woman up and take it up with DCUA directly, rather than trashing them on an anonymous forum). f you have such concerns about the state of DCUA, and are such an expert, why are you sharing your knowledge here and not with the club?

That kid is talented. DCUA probably skipped over him because of size. When he hits a growth spurt, DCUA will regret not picking him up. On to bigger and better things, happy for him.
