Bringing food to a friend post-surgery

Anonymous
I am bringing a meal to a friend on Monday, the day after she returns from the hospital after major surgery. My plan is to bake a pan of macaroni and cheese and roast some tomatoes the night before (I work on Monday, so I have to do it Sunday evening), then bring it to her cold on Monday to be heated up as needed (will also bring salad/dressing, and maybe some cookies or brownies). Does this sound OK? In an ideal world, I'd bring it freshly cooked, but neither of our schedules will allow it.

That sounds good. Just put a note on the mac/cheese and tomatoes about re-heating them. She may be drowsy/in pain when she gets home and not remember what you tell her verbally about re-heating.

It sounds wonderful--I'm sure it will be well appreciated. And don't worry about it being freshly cooked or from the next day--it will be great! You are a good friend and she will know it
