EMBARRASSING QUESTION @ MY UNDERWEAR!!!!

Anonymous
I'm embarrassed to ask this, but I need help!

The last couple of days I noticed a very stong smell when I got to the bathroom. My underwear smells like bleach and I'm starting to freak out because I've never had this smell before. Is that a symptom for something or is that smell normal????

Too much bleaching agent in your wash?
Or body odor that smells like bleach? No idea about that.

Sometimes the food you eat, like onions, can influence body odor "down there". But I have never eaten anything that consequently smells like bleach...

Sometimes sitting tightly for long periods, snug clothes and man-made fibers can increase body odor, because air cannot circulate.

Agreed. Also, if you've got a cold or some other health problem at the moment, that can affect how all parts of your body smell.

It could be an infection. You should probably see a doctor.

if you have a discharge that smells, could be bacterial vaginosis. the "fishy" smell is the tip off.

Funny, I've been noticing that too lately. I'm not alarmed, because I don't have any other symptoms. But I was thinking that maybe I'll do the next load of laundry with the leftover dreft I have, to see if it makes a difference.

Once when I had a weird smell, I ended up having carcinoma insitu of the cervix, i.e. HPV that had turned to cancer but not penetrated the base membrane. Go to the doctor if it continues.

OMG! OP here, should I go to my OBGYN pr primary physician? Are you ok now? Is there a cure for this?

I'm the PP who has this as well, and folding laundry last night, I caught a whiff of it from the clean clothes. I'm almost sure now it's the dryer sheets. Which makes sense, because I only use them in the winter, and have been noticing the smell just for a couple of months. Do you use dryer sheets?

OP here, no I don't. I'm totally freaking out! I just made an appointment with my OBGYN for a pap smear. Do you happen to know how people get this disease?

Yes, I'm OK, they caught it in time. I had not had a PAP in 2.5 yrs. but that's all it took. If you have been keeping up w/PAPs I'm sure that's not what it is.

OP, don't worry! It could be a lot of things. Once I had a weird smell and it was a minor infection. Just one applicator of antibiotics and it was gone.

Nearly all is linked to HPV, which many people have and don't know.

It is much more likely that you have bacterial vaginosis, however, so try to stay calm.

could you be pregnant? a strange smell was my first tip-off with both my pregnancies.
