We are going to purchase a kitchen aid stand mixer and plan on using it for making bread dough along with lots of baking. I know some models are better than others, can anyone recommend the model they have?
Thanks! |
| This is sort of the opposite of what you're asking for, but I have an Artisan and when I'm using it to knead dough, I wish I'd gone for one with a bigger motor. You can tell it's struggling. |

OP here, thanks for the info on the Artisan that is kind of what i thought too after reading some reviews online.
Wow the hobart looks great but unfortunately we can't afford a $2000 + mixer

I have this one from Costco. It is really very good and I believe the wattage is higher than most other models in other stores. http://www.costco.com/Browse/ProductSet.aspx?Prodid=11590351
But even then, the instructions will say that if you're using the dough hook, do not make it go beyond the lowest power levels because it will overheat/break/whatever. but I've used this to make pizza dough, challah bread, french bread, cakes, cookies... It's great. |
| I don't want to threadcrap but I am a big fan of no-knead bread. |
| I just saw on GMA this morning that the Kitchen Aid was going on sale for $100 off. |
