What do you think of Bethesda ES?

Anonymous
We're looking into moving to Bethesda next month. The school assigned to where we would be living is Bethesda ES. What do you think of it? Any feedback would be great. Thanks!

It's a good school. High SES area/high test scores, fairly new building. I don't think it's particularly overcrowded by relative standards.

Note that most kids go on to Westland/BCC but one neighborhood goes to Pyle/Whitman (most likely in the next few years all of BE will go to Westland, or possibly a new BCC MS if they build one).

We like it, great Principal and teachers

Make sure you double check with the school board not your realtor about what your school assignment is.

Thanks for the feedback. Glad to hear you like it and that it's not over crowded. We haven't done the tour yet since we're still out of state but we know where we'll live and this is the school assigned to the address.

I'm still a few years away from MS but good to be aware of the possible changes.

Thanks again.

You can pull up a short profile of Bethesda elementary (or any other MoCo school) at the school system's web site -

You just should confirm that the house is not in a neighborhood that is currently planned for redistricting. As one PP said, the boundaries for Bethesda are in the process of changing, and in the next year or two some of the kids who are currently assigned to BE will be moved to Bradley Hills. BH is a great school, although pretty crowded, but you'd be fine either way.
