Good Thai restaurant in NW - Foggy Bottom/K Street Area?

This would be for an office lunch. TIA!

It's been at least 6 years since I've been there, but I used to love Thai Kitchen at 2311 M Street. I think it would work well for an office lunch, esp if you call ahead to arrange for enough tables to be reserved. I thought the food was substantially better at Thai Kingdom than Thai Kingdom on K street, which is another good option.

Yes, Thai Kitchen, absolutely. I left DC a year ago but used to work near there and go for lunch and then would order delivery from their for dinner at home and it is GREAT. Miss it a lot. This sounds nuts but order something called the Yum Tofu Salad as an appetizer. I am not a vegetarian, I don't eat Tofu ever but someone let me try theirs once and I was hooked. It's kind of fried tofu on lettuce with this super spicy lime dressing. Go there and get it for me since I can't!

Thai kitchen is ok but there is a better one up a few streets near mcormicks and schmicks. So much better.

NO. If PP is suggesting Thai Kingdom, it SUCKS. They don't even have any decent noodle dishes. I don't think they have green curry either!? I just can't get why people like that place.

Mai Thai is really good (and the staff's really friendly). It's on 19th between L and M.

Not in the area you are speaking of but the BEST Thai food I've had in the US so far was at Nava Thai in Wheaton. . .and I'm half Thai.

Nooshi. That is what I was trying to think of. Good casual.

There is no good thai there. Ruan thai in wheaton is excellent.
Ten Penh is not too far from there and very good but pricey.
best asian food there is malaysia kopitiam and szechuan pavilion.

Wha?! In one breath you dis the whole Golden triangle for not having good Thai, and in the other you recommend a fusion/pan asian restaurant? Fusion/pan Asian is about as blah as you can get (although Ten Penh is about the best of them, I guess). I just...I don't get you.

I have only eaten Thai once, and it was okay. However, there is a Thai restauraunt across the street from my house that is always busy. The thing about it is there's a two week wait for a table, and its so little in there. Customers in there are always stealing my parking spot. It's called Thai X-ing. Little further than what you are asking for, but not by much. its on 5th and Florida Ave, NW
