Any slow cooker Indian or Middle Eastern style chicken recipes?

There are tons of mexican style chicken recipes out there but I can't find any with curry or masala or other Indian style. I'd take middle eastern style too.

I used to make chickpea curry from dried chickpeas in the crockpot. I wish I could remember what I did so I could make it again. But the thing is, for curries you need a sauteed onion base, so you have to start it on the stove then transfer to the crockpot. So it's not the easiest thing to do in the morning before work. I used to make it on weekends.

IMO chicken is not good in a slow cooker. it overcooks. Better to stick to veg, beef, lamb, game etc.

Actually, I've had good luck with chicken. I just need something new besides mex recipes.

Here is a yummy recipe from Cooking Light 5 Ingredient Cookbook, not Indian, but African:

MOROCCAN CHICKEN AND LENTILS

1 8 oz package baby carrots
1.5 cups lentils, uncooked
1.5 lbs frozen chicken breast tenders
2 tbsps minced garlic
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp salt-free Moroccan rub (or 3/4 tsp. ground turmeric, 1/2 tsp ground red pepper, and 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon)
2 14.25 oz cans fat-free, reduced -sodium chicken broth.

Place all ingredients, in order listed, in a 4- or 5- quart electric slow cooker. Cover and cook on high setting 5 hours. Or, cover and cook on high setting 1 hr; reduce to low setting and cook 7 hours.
Yield: 6 1-cup servings.

Serve with couscous and/or toasted pita chips.

Here's a recipe of one of my favorite chicken dishes. It's a traditional Palestinian dish, consisting of chicken and onions. The link has 2 recipes, I would recommend recipe no. 1. The type of breag used is simlar to the Indian naan bread, the regular pita bread would be soaked and mushy, so better not use it.

This looks delicious! Where do you buy Sumac? Can you make this in a slow cooker? Can you use naan if you use a slow cooker?

There is a cookbook called The Indian Slow Cooker by Anupy Singla. She has a website, but I'm not sure if it has recipes on it or not.

We really liked this dish and it seems like it could be adapted to a slow-cooker.

This one gets great reviews. Though I haven't tried it yet myself, it's in my queue.

I made the Moroccan chicken and cous cous that was posted here and it was a big hit with the whole family. Both my sons asked to take it in their thermos to pre-school. Thanks for the recipe!
