Great undereye concealer?

Anonymous
I'm looking for a great undereye concealer. I used Laura Mercier for years, then switched to Bobbie Brown corrector and concealer (2 products), but I find them very dry and hard to apply. Want something to cover dark circles.

I was going to recommend Bobbi Brown--I love that product. If you need something with thick full coverage it's going to be dryish. I used to use Laura Mercier and I remember liking that a lot. I also like the BeneFit concealer and I like it too but it can be a bit greasy. For general brightening, Yves St. Laurent's Touche Eclat is divine.

If concealer is hard to apply, it might be too heavy for you. Try using a lighter foundation in place of a concealer. I have the same issue and have found that the stick foundations work well for this. My favorite was Smashbox (but I think they stopped making one), but Bobbi Brown and even the Max Factor stick you can purchase at a drug store both work very well.

You might try the Bobbi Brown eye cream under the corrector and concealer.

I love, love, love YSL touche e'clat. Probably didn't spell it right, but you'll get the picture. It's at department stores and Sephora. I had the lady at the YSL counter show me how to apply it, and it is literally a miracle!

This is not expensive, but it works well for me and really makes a difference:

Make Up Forever HD Under eye concealer --- or something like that name. It's in a pen with a snub applicator. Available at sephora -- their coloring tends to be yellow-based which is great for me. Their matte perfection foundation is also great, btw.

I like the YSL product too, but to *distract* from under eye circles -- use at the inside of the nose and along the outer curve of your eye socket (the bone at your cheek bone) and blend. Then add the concealer, just at the inner corner. This seems to work really well for me.

Lancome Effacernes - I use the tube, *not* the wand. Have been using it for over 15 years (am 37).

I use the YSL touche d'eclat too but over concealer rather than instead of. I use the laura mercier concealer.

Make sure you are using the right kind of applicator. I found that made a difference. I use a concealer brush and then blend it with a cosmetic sponge.
