and not to go out tonight with the kids...
um, i have windows. and a 1 week old and a 3 year old. i'm mostly annoyed b/c she called right at bedtime (always does this), probably woke up 3 tear old and i had finally gotten infant to latch on and jumped up to avoid big kid getting woken up. argh. |

Turn off the ringer or unplug the phone at bedtime. Let her leave a (stupid but well-intentioned) message. |

| I feel sorry for your MIL. You sound like a witch that is never happy. You are only one week post partum, so maybe you are not normally such a miserable person. Let's at least hope. |

Ok- earlier in my motherhood (they are now 3 and 5) I may have been annoyed- especially if I was hormonal after having a baby.. but now? MIL is involved long distance but not that much- I would LOVE for her to be this way.. she has grandchildren from her two daughters and I doubt she was that way then either (she seems to like adult interaction more- at least now that she;s older),. Anyway, just saying it;'s a sign she loves her grandchild and is concerned about safety- try to think of that..now if she gets into parenting issues then you can go off..

| I think there are some drunk evil MILs posting. People leave their phones on in case of emergencies. XShe shouldn't have to turn it off every night because of her MIL. It is nice that she cares, but you every right to be annoyed. |

"every right to be annoyed?" Why? Because she was concerned and called at a time that turned out to be inconvenient? I'm beginning to see why a lot of you have problems in relationships. You need to chill and cut people some slack. it's not as if she were calling to complain or whine. She called out of concern. |

| OP, my mom does this too. She lives in NY. It is annoying because it happens all the time. She will even call to give me the weather for destinations she knows I am travelling to. As if I do not have a TV, or windows, or generally l live under a rock. |
