They never said it wasn't his laptop. But it is clear that the data had been severely compromised at multiple points along the way, not to mention any semblance of legal chain of custody.

The $18-24 million is the Mar-a-Lago property tax value, which Trump has never disputed. It is a moldy tacky old social club with historic designation and other restrictions that say it can only be used as a social club. It isn’t 20 acres that could be subdivided for luxury condo development so you can’t inflate the value by imagining condos full of money-laundering oligarchs.

From the Palm Beach News in 2020 when Trump challenged the Mar-a-Lago valuation of $26.6 million as too high.

Tax representatives at Marvin F. Poer & Co., acting on behalf of Trump’s property ownership entities, filed petitions this year to the state-authorized Value Adjustment Board challenging the valuations assigned to Mar-a-Lago and the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, according to a spokeswoman for the county appraiser’s office.

The petition for the Jupiter property was subsequently withdrawn, said agency spokeswoman Becky Robinson. A virtual hearing has been scheduled Dec. 3 to consider Mar-a-Lago’s valuation, which at $26.6 million is unchanged from last year. Under state law, values are assigned as of Jan. 1 each year.

Old news. Discussed several times already in this thread. Chinese businessman wanted to invest in an LNG facility in Louisiana. That is legal and normal. Paid retainer and other legitimate costs to Hunter. That is legal and normal. Deal fell through because the Chinese businessman was arrested by the Chinese government. So he was not a front for the Chinese government, and nothing that Hunter did while the deal was in development involved Joe Biden or any federal government action or policy at all. It was just another Chinese guy wanting to invest in the U.S.

I heard Rudy Giuliani told his Chinese counterpart to arrest the investor for some trade deal teh Chinese wanted. It is a typical republican/red China deal.
