domino's pizza question (i know, i know)

Anonymous
This is kinda random but here goes anyway. I ate Domino's pizza growing up and in college and it was fine. Not the best pizza I've ever had, but okay. I moved here from NYC (land of great pizza) and Domino's is the only place that delivers to my house, which sucks. The cracker thin flatbread pizza is passable, and the regular pizza I find too doughy. I also hate the new zesty sauce. I thought there was no hope for Dominos.... however, my work orders Dominos for everyone once per week and it tastes JUST like the old Dominos! The sauce is normal, the crust is normal (not too thin or too thick..) - I honestly cannot figure this out. I am too embarrassed to ask the person at work who orders.. but I want to be able to get that pizza at home! I tried ordering "regular" crust and specifically said I didn't want zesty sauce and the crust was still too doughy and thick.........

someone help!

Other than ordering from the same Domino's that your work orders from, I dont see how anyone else can help you. If its not the one closest to your house, maybe you can pick up a pie on the way home. They are probably just still using the old recipe.

I have noticed exactly the same thing. The ones that come to my home are horrible, but the ones from downtown are delicious.

Downtown, we order form the one at 13th and L. I wonder if they do use the old recipe?

Where do you live, OP? Is there a Manny and Olga's nearby?

Someone told me its founder is a fundamentalist, racist. But the company was sold several years ago. Good that the money spent doesn't go to support his ideology anymore.

He wasn't racist. He was a Roman Catholic and anti-choice. Some of the profit went to NRLC. Don't know it this is still the case.

Why would you be embarrassed to ask the person who orders the pizza at work? There's nothing embarrassing about ordering pizza once in a while. I exercise daily and eat well, but I love an occasional pizza. The Domino's near me has had good pizza for years. but I usually just pick it up; you could always do takeout on the way home from work.

Get online and put in the zip for your work and see which Domino's comes up. Odds are, it's the one your coworker orders from.

I don't see why you'd be embarassed either. Most people like to tell about successes and are pleased when others point that out.

.

Yeah well, what if she's a big fat person? If I were big and fat, I might not want to ask, just sayin'.

Sorry. I hate saying: just sayin'.

Wow--I thought the old Domino's recipe was barely edible. It's only since they changed it up that I've started eating Domino's again.

But then again, I think Chicago-style pizza is 10x better than New York style, so maybe that's my bias...
