You'll see that the "immediate next steps" section is now gone.

Thank you. The way this has been re-written, it's definitely emphasized that there will be no registration changes in 25/26. Except in California?

Uh oh SY dreamland is running into some snags.

Who could have guessed?

Change a system to get rid of trapped players to a new system with trapped players.
System is being changed to increase participation. No snags.

I have a 2017 deck that says changing to BY increases participation.

You love moving the goal posts. 1/2 of the posts on this thread are about letting kids play with other kids in their grade. The other 1/2 are posts about RAE. Both say that changing to SY fixes everything.

Now youre saying that its all because of participation? Give me a break.

You realize that USYS and US Club soccer agreed to switch to Sept 1 registration at the end of February - and that system begins in 26/27 - right? It's done and concluded.

No amount of complaining about it on an anonymous message board change that fact. The debate is over. You lost.

Theres no winning or losing its just a grouping. Also my kid was born in Sept.

There will be waivers just watch.

Have there been waivers for December birthdays to "play down" with their school grade the past 10 years in US Club or US Youth Soccer? If so, I'm sure your right about waivers continuing.

Yes both ECNL and GA have waivers that allow trapped players to play down during their trapped year.

GA does not in fact have this waiver. Trapped players get practices with the team below but no games.

There you go. Those waivers will for sure continue. Why wouldn't they?

You realize that SY+60 is just a more defined waiver.

We're keeping the waiver process the same. Thanks.

Ok then +60 waiver it is.

The current waiver goes away when BY changes to SY. But the trapped issue still exists.

No, the current waiver process stays the same. It's limited to the trapped player situation, which still exists as you say.

I'm going to call the one that exists, is written into the rulebook and has been in use for years as more defined than the one that is a figment of an imagination of a dad of a girl he is trying to help.

It's the same thing.

The one in the rulebook allows trapped players to play down their trapped year and u19.

Because SY doesnt have a gap year like BY the trapped player issue still exists its just more spread out .

They removed that rule for the 24-25 season.

GA had a late developer clause up until the 24/25 season where U14/15 players could play down. I believe now they do allow for showcases during the high school season only for 8th graders.

Good luck with that.

MLSN biobanding can be 21 months and they play full time in the younger team. Think about that, when you pay $4k to have your kid sit on the bench to give the spot to a kid who is 18 to 20 months older.

I'm not replying to my own posts.

I do think SY+60 is the way to go. There must be others that see its logic as well.

I appreciate all the crazy spam posts fighting against SY+60. The more you go insane the more parents are introduced the the SY+60 concept.
You liking vanilla ice cream and getting mad that other people like chocolate by constantly replying to your own posts on SY plus sized will get us to 2,000!

I literally stopped posting last night and now theres a bunch more posts about addressing the trapped players that still exist under SY with a single date cutoff.

You on the other hand post like crazy saying the same thing about how great it is to put your head in the sand while responding to your own posts.

Come on, we all see it.

ECNL has no intention of solving the "All" trapped players issue. The CEO already said they try to reduce it the most by placing the cutoff to 9/1. Live with that and move on. Don't post 100 times and behave like a jerk.

First theres more leagues than ECNL

Second theres still trapped players. Fix it.

Ignoring trapped players when the issue could easy be addressed seems like a jerk move to me.

But what about all the August kids who started “late” and now will miss club soccer their senior year because no more U19?

ECNL has gone dark. Not telling their club directors anything about age group change plans.
